BBC Media Village, White City, London, UK
The Background
The centre-piece of the BBC’s new £300m media village is the
digital broadcast centre - a highly complex state-of-the-art
facility that manages the digital broadcasting of the entire
BBC’s television output. The building opened officially on 12th
May 2004. The BBC Media Village is RIBA Award-winner 2005.
The client within the BBC, consisted of many stakeholders with different requirements; technical, organisational and creative. Cayford Architecture was brought in by BBC Broadcast at the inception stage of the project, before a site had even been chosen, with the task of defining and managing the precise property requirements.
"Paul was informed, energetic,
reliable, and diplomatic, and we were grateful not only for his
guidance on the many complex matters but also for his constant
enthusiasm.”
Graham Morrison – Allies & Morrison Architects.
